Fund Raising
The Cincinnati Chapter has established an exemplary record of fund raising and philanthropy. Having raised over $1 million in its 55 year history, the chapter has combined its resources with other Cincinnati institutions to support programs such as Artworks, The Hamilton County Youth Conference, Cincinnati’s Youth Collaborative, Speaking of Women’s Health, and the Urban League of Cincinnati Building Campaign. In 2000, The Cincinnati Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was the first non-profit organization to donate $100,000 to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, thus raising the awareness for leadership and financial support of an anticipated national treasure.
For over forty years the Cincinnati Chapter has sponsored The Ebony Fashion Fair as a major fund raising event. The program is a unique experience that combines the creations of top designers and world-class runway models in a breathtaking and entertaining theater presentation. The Ebony Fashion Fair is Cincinnati’s only couture fashion event that is open to the public. The show is held annually in early November and features the works of Yves St. Laurent, Emanuel Ungaro, Lois Feraud and designs from other couture collections.
In 2003, for the first time the Chapter presented the Emerald and Diamond Gala. This unique event features the Ebony Fashion Fair, a fabulous dinner, and dancing for over 800 patrons from every facet of the community. The gala provides substantial financial support to significant community programs that are aligned with the mission of The Links, Incorporated.
In March 2008 the Cincinnati Chapter of the Links, Inc will bring DanceBrazil to Cincinnati. DanceBrazil offers the best traditional and contemporary and Afro-Brazilian dance including the art form of capoeira. DanceBrazil will bring you to your feet cheering for more.
